2025 Business Training Sessions
The MN Hmong Chamber of Commerce (MHCC) is committed to empowering entrepreneurs of Southeast Asian descent in Minnesota through enhanced business practices. We are thrilled to share the exciting news of our collaboration with local subject matter experts to offer a series of trainings tailored for Southeast Asian business owners and operators in Minnesota. Made possible by a generous grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), these training sessions are being offered at no charge to participants.
Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, these training sessions are designed to provide valuable insights and strategies that can make a significant impact on your business ventures.
Qualifications
To be eligible for these training sessions, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Identify as Southeast Asian or of Southeast Asian descent
- Be a resident of Minnesota
- Own, work in, or have a strong interest in starting a business
- Is a member of The Minnesota Hmong Chamber of Commerce (MHCC), or become a member during enrollment
Requirements
All participants will be expected to complete the following during or after the session is completed.
- Attend at least one MHCC event
- Participate in 1:1 Consultations
- Please note that DEED requires certain participant information, such as proof of residency, Social Security Number, Individual Goal Plan, and attendance records, for grant purposes. Rest assured that your data will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the grant application process.

Toolkit for Small Business Entrepreneurship
Overview
Business Finance – May 13, 2025 6:00pm-7:30pm CST This workshop is designed to help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and managers understand and apply key financial principles to run a more profitable, sustainable, and efficient business. Attendees will gain essential knowledge in financial management, budgeting, cash flow, and strategic financial planning, providing them with the tools they need to make informed decisions and grow their businesses.
Business Plan – May 14, 2025 6:00pm – 7:30pm CST This workshop is designed to guide entrepreneurs, small business owners, and managers through the process of creating a comprehensive and actionable business plan. Attendees will learn how to define their business goals and guide their business toward sustainable growth.
Marketing Strategies – May 15, 6:00pm – 7:30pm CST This workshop is designed to help entrepreneurs, business owners, and marketing managers develop and execute effective marketing strategies that drive growth and brand awareness. Participants will learn how to identify their target audience and craft compelling marketing messages.

Growing Your Business With Minnesota State Certifications
Overview
Participants will learn about the benefits of their small business being certified by the State. They will learn about the types of certifications, their requirements, and benefits. As schedule allows, the participant will learn directly from the Minnesota Small Business Procurement Program.
Participants will have the opportunity to apply for their selected certification, and also learn how to:
- Access the state portals and respond to their Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Respond and submit a proposal
- Navigate the search process to find relevant RFPs

AI Powered Digital Marketing for Small Businesses
Overview

Business Resilience Program
Overview
Participants will learn about the benefits of their small business being certified by state and federal. They will learn how to navigate bids through government websites, understand the RFP process and learn how to put a proposal together before the end of the training.
Participants will have the opportunity to apply for their selected certification, and also learn how to:
- Access the state of MN bid portals and other states’ portals
- Respond to their Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Follow the process on how to bid, put a proposal together and reach out for questions during the bidding process.
- Acquire and learn about SAMS ID, SWIFT ID and about Business Credits
Session Outcomes:
- Increase revenue
- Increase business opportunities
- Compete at a larger scale in business for Private and Public Bids
